Round Brilliant
The benchmark. 58 facets engineered to return the maximum light back to the eye. The most forgiving shape — a Triple Excellent round will look extraordinary on every hand. About 60% of all engagement rings are set with rounds. If you are uncertain, choose round.
Oval
Elongates the finger. Reads larger than a round of the same carat weight because the shape stretches the visual footprint. Watch for the bow-tie effect — a dark band across the centre of the stone caused by cut depth. Every Montare oval is hand-selected to avoid it.
Cushion
A square with softened corners and pillowy facets. Romantic, vintage-feeling. Holds light beautifully under candlelight — the facet pattern catches every flicker.
Emerald
Step-cut, not brilliant-cut. The stone reads as a hall of mirrors rather than scintillating sparkle. Demands the highest clarity — inclusions show. VVS only.
Pear
A teardrop. Wear with the point toward the fingertip to elongate. Reads larger than a round of the same weight. Suited to long, slender fingers.
Marquise
Two points, the longest-looking shape per carat. A statement, not a default.
Radiant
A brilliant-cut emerald shape — the rectangle of an emerald with the fire of a round. Trimmed corners protect the stone in everyday wear.
